The Superfruit Diet

The Superfruit Diet, also know as SDF-3 diet, has been getting a great deal of attention after Dr. Oz focused an episode of his popular show on this diet and how if helps people achieve their weight loss goal. Acai berry, african mango, raspberry ketone, and green coffee make up the SDF-3 diet.

The acai berry is a powerful antioxidant that can prevent diseases caused by oxidative stress such as heart disease and cancer. It is a small reddish-purple fruit that comes from the acai palm tree (euterpe oleracea) grown in Central and South America. The acai berry contains anthocyanins and flavonoids, which play a major role in the bodys cell protection system, therefore defending the body against the normal stressors in life, which can contribute to these diseases.

The African mango is a key component in the SDF-3 diet mainly because of its ability to suppress ones appetite. It also lowers ones cholesteral and regulates how much leptin a person products. Leptin is the hormone in our body that determines how much of an appetite a person has. Naturally the less of an appetite we have, the less amount of food one comsumes.

Raspberry ketone is another component of the SDF-3 diet. It is a vitamin available at health food stores. Raspberry ketone is the primary compound of red rasberries. It regulates a protein called adiponectin. Adiponecton is used by the body to regulate metabolism. Consumption of raspberry ketone will also help your body burn fat faster by breaking up the fat in our cells most effectively. Dr. Oz recommends taking 100 mg per day for maximum results.

Green coffee bean extract is the last component of the SDF-3. Its role is to help prevent our body from absorbing the fat we eat. Chlorogenic acid in the green coffee bean is what inhibits and slows down glucose intake which allows for blood sugar levels to balance out. Of course the most effective way to lose weight is to eat healthy and exercise regularly; the SDF-3 diet is just a tool to aid in the weight- loss process. Eating foods with antioxidants like the acai berry will naturally make you feel better and give you more energy. Feeling good is always a benefit to help kick-start an exercise routine.
